Best way to link Twitter and Facebook

I’ve looked at plenty of small little apps that let you in some way, shape or form tie your Facebook status with your Twitter updates. Why do this? Mostly to save time and to get your message out to more people. To start with, you must have both a Facebook and a Twitter account. The best way I have found to link the two is using Twitter to update Facebooks status. The problem I was having is that I didnt necessarily want ALL of my tweets being shunted to my Facebook page. Enter Selective Twitter Status. Selective Twitter Status is […]

Snow Leopard on your PC

Not content with waging a crazy legal battle with Apple based on just selling hardware with Snow Leopard on it, Psystar is now selling software called Rebel EFI that lets you put OS X on any new PC. You can actually download a trial version yourself before you hand over your $50. Keep in mind that you’ll need to have a machine with one of these processors in order for this to work: Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, i7 or Xeon Nehalem. We haven’t tested Rebel EFI, so we can’t say how well it works. Let us know […]

iTunes 9 Review

Last week, Apple released its ninth major version of iTunes — which first came out in January, 2001, before the iPod even existed — and I’ve been testing it. This release is the biggest overhaul of the familiar program in recent years, with improvements in the look and functionality of each of the software’s three main portions: the media jukebox, the built-in store and the synchronization features that move media and applications to and from iPods and iPhones. In my tests, performed on multiple Windows PCs and Macs, iTunes 9 worked as advertised, and I found it to be less […]

Sonisphere 09

Update: Sonisphere 2010 review here The two-day music festival at the stately Knebworth house gardens came to a close yesterday with Metallica headlining the Sunday night. Sonisphere 09 was the first of what is said to be an annual event with this years lineup being very metal orientated. The organisers are adamant that it’s a “rock” festival and not a “metal” festival however, rumours have emerged that Iron Maiden are booked for next year. Saturday’s line up featured the likes of Anthrax, Heaven and Hell, and Bullet for my Valentine. Rain seemed to dampen the Sonisphere vibe a bit on […]

Facebook Privacy Tips

1) Tagged in a photo you don’t want your mum to see? For some of us who are “enriched” with tech savvy family members, the time will come where you get the friend request from your mum or gossipy aunt. There are oh so many things I’d be written out of the will for should they stumble upon photographic evidence. So how do you prevent the infamous tagged photo or video from showing up in all of your friends news feeds? It’s pretty simple. First visit your profile privacy page and modify the setting next to “Photos Tagged of You”. […]

Google Top Tips

A hugely useful and often overlooked feature of Google is the “show options” link at the top of your search results. Clicking it will add a sidebar to the left of your results where you can narrow down your search and find exactly what you’re after. The Video below explains a few of these features.

The Internet Is Changing Us!

We are so used to the Internet we tend not to notice the importance we place on it these days. Clay Shirky talks about how social media is bypassing our rules and laws right down to the way we interact.

Welcome to The Projects

This is the first post of many on the subjects of creative tech. Creative Tech? What’s that? Just another buzz word for the kids? Maybe, but it’s ever apparent that the lines between creativity and technology are blurring. I’ve been a tech head all my life, but I’ve also been into most things arty. Up until now it’s been hard to fuse the two into something people understand. Example Conversation: “Jamie, what do you do? I’m in a band. Oh really? What do you play? Ah, many things, but it’s not like that. What do you mean? Well, I use […]
